About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Qinshan tooling scope
  • Test, troubleshoot and provide execution support for tooling systems
  • Read engineering drawings for nuclear tooling using SolidWorks
  • Implement tooling updates and modifications based on OPEX, design feedback and lessons learned
  • Support Engineering Change Notices by preparing technical inputs, implementing design revisions and documenting impacts
  • Document test results, issues and potential design improvements for future tool builds
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company procedures and policies
  • Assemble, repair and maintain nuclear retube equipment
  • Coordinate and complete multiple tasks
  • Participate in equipment testing programs and troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Support material handling activities and manually lift tooling and equipment
  • Coordinate other technicians/trades on project deliverables when applicable
  • Prepare route sheets and engineering documentation deliverables for nuclear tooling
  • Complete prioritized work requests on time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical engineering technology, certificate of qualification from College of Trades and Apprenticeship or relevant technical experience
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in mechanical assembly/testing/repair of nuclear inspection tooling and shop equipment
  • Experience with tooling repair, maintenance and operation
  • Compliance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date training and qualification records and complete required certifications and training on time
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical parts obsolescence and ability to source replacements
  • Organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex and parallel technical projects
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Willingness to travel to and potentially work at project sites
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work hands-on with mechanical systems
  • Ability to prepare route sheets and engineering documentation deliverables for nuclear tooling
  • Ability to complete prioritized work requests on time
  • Security clearance is a requirement for employment
