About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and work on Power & Renewable and Electrical Engineering projects
  • Provide electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects
  • Support project scope and estimating
  • Provide input to project cost and schedule
  • Control and monitor design budgets
  • Perform electrical system studies and calculations, including load flow, short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection
  • Prepare engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents
  • Prepare equipment specifications and selections, perform technical bid evaluations, and make recommendations
  • Prepare power distribution layouts and grounding and lightning protection system designs and layouts
  • Develop wiring diagrams, single-line and three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams
  • Size and specify electrical equipment
  • Develop high-voltage substation physical and protection and control system designs
  • Assist with field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance tests
  • Interact effectively with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
  • Report to the Chief Electrical Engineer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Electrical Engineer Degree from a recognized university
  • 10-20 years of experience for senior positions
  • 6-9 years of experience for mid-level positions
  • Solid engineering design background in power, industrial, and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS)
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE codes, standards, and recommended practices
  • Leadership skills to lead projects and engineering design teams
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on client management
  • Valid P.E. in the US or NCEES record
  • Experience in equipment sizing, specification, and selection, including transformers, generators, motors, and HV substation equipment
  • Experience developing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams
  • Experience in power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, and grounding/lightning protection systems
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, and CDEGS
