About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage bids and proposals end to end
- Support bid strategy, planning, capture and opportunity shaping
- Develop proposals and set bid programmes
- Guide bid teams through the full process
- Lead drumbeats and answer-planning sessions
- Conduct quality reviews and ensure compliance
- Engage and manage stakeholders
- Manage post-submission clarifications and lessons learned
- Coordinate technical subject matter expert inputs into clear, compelling and compliant submissions
- Apply best-practice proposal processes, tools and templates
- Support adoption of best-in-class approaches and tools, including generative AI where appropriate
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Contribute to continuous improvement, process improvements and knowledge sharing
- Build collaborative relationships with Win Work, technical teams and stakeholders across the Complex Projects business unit
- Report to the bid team lead
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree or equivalent qualification
- Relevant business development or proposal-related certifications desirable
- Proven end-to-end Bid and Proposal Management experience within engineering, construction or professional services environments
- Experience contributing to large, complex and high-value proposals, ideally across infrastructure, energy, transportation, defence or regulated sectors
- Solid understanding of professional services projects and terminology
- Ability to critique and review proposal content
- Experience working with senior technical and commercial stakeholders
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple proposals concurrently and meet demanding deadlines
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
- Clear, structured and persuasive writing style
- Experience using generative AI writing tools desirable
- High attention to detail for compliance, accuracy and quality
- Collaborative and proactive working style
- Confidence to challenge, influence and contribute positively within bid teams
- Well-developed emotional intelligence
- Ability to adapt approach to different stakeholders and team dynamics
- Security clearance may be required; relevant clearance must be obtained if necessary
- Security vetting may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer
