About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, and control integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other planning tools
- Establish and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity sequencing, logic links, resource loading, and schedule baselines
- Prepare detailed look-ahead schedules and monitor progress against approved baselines
- Conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, schedule performance analysis, and delay analysis
- Identify schedule risks and opportunities and develop mitigation and recovery plans
- Support change management processes and update Performance Measurement Baselines (PMB) for approved scope and schedule changes
- Develop and maintain EPC project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
- Establish and maintain Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) aligned with project WBS
- Prepare project control procedures, governance frameworks, and reporting structures
- Track and analyse project budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, forecasts, contingencies, and cash flows
- Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis and provide performance insights
- Monitor project cost and schedule variances, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
- Produce periodic cost reports, forecasts, dashboards, and project performance reports
- Support pricing estimates and cost planning throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist project managers with early warnings, change orders, claims support, and project controls documentation
- Support qualitative and quantitative risk analysis activities
- Monitor project KPIs and performance indicators
- Conduct change impact assessments and schedule/cost impact analyses
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project governance processes
- Support supply chain management activities and contract administration requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of project controls processes
- Develop Power BI dashboards and interactive reports to support project decision-making
- Analyse project data and convert insights into actionable recommendations
- Monitor and report KPIs, trends, forecasts, and project performance metrics
- Utilize data analytics, Power BI, DAX, SQL, and business intelligence tools to improve project visibility and reporting effectiveness
- Support automation and digital transformation initiatives within project controls functions
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders
- Serve as a key point of contact for planning and project controls activities
- Facilitate alignment on schedule, cost, risk, and performance objectives
- Participate in client meetings, steering committees, project reviews, and governance forums
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support successful project delivery
- Mentor and guide junior planners and project controls professionals
- Promote best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across projects and portfolios
- Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and commitment to high-quality project delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in Planning, Scheduling, Cost Management, and Project Controls
- Expert understanding of CPM scheduling techniques and Earned Value Management
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and related planning tools
- Experience with cost management systems such as EcoSys or equivalent
- Proficiency in cost management tools such as EcoSys and report preparation
- Experience with Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), Cash Flow, and Contingency Management
- Proficiency in Financial System Interface, Budget/Cost Control, and Cost Change Control
- Knowledge of NEC3, NEC4, and FIDIC contracts and their impact on project controls, claims, and scheduling
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes
- Experience in EPC and infrastructure projects is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Power BI, data analytics, reporting, and dashboard development
- Knowledge of automation tools, VBA, and digital solutions is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Building Technology, or a related discipline
- 6-12 years of relevant experience in Planning and/or Project Controls roles on large-scale projects
- Experience supporting UK, Middle East, or US projects is preferred
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic project environment
