About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage contaminated sites through site investigation, risk assessment, remediation and risk management planning
  • Provide project leadership by allocating technical teams to projects
  • Manage or act in project management and technical direction roles
  • Support project execution and mentor junior staff
  • Lead senior-level project management, including technical program development, personnel and resource management, budgets, schedules, quality assurance reviews and client objectives
  • Understand and apply client objectives, technical protocols, guidelines and regulations
  • Distribute workload and contribute to group utilization while coordinating resources
  • Interface directly with clients, First Nations and regulatory bodies
  • Grow group revenue through existing client relationships, new business and expanded lines of business
  • Identify project quality, profitability, risks and liabilities and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure implementation of quality assurance programs, corporate policies, procedures, Ethics and Compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Sciences with a professional designation in BC
  • 20+ years of practical environmental consulting experience
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor technical and professional staff at different levels of career development
  • Solid knowledge of municipal, provincial and federal environmental standards, regulations and guidelines applying to environmental investigation and remediation projects in British Columbia and other parts of Canada
  • Technical expertise in the mining sector is an asset, specifically abandoned mine sites, remediation, and mine closure
  • Proven technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing and speaking
  • Ability to manage time and multiple deliverables
  • Commitment to excellence with a focus on quality management
