About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver pre- and post-contract MEP quantity surveying and cost management services across a diverse project portfolio
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, feasibility studies, budgets, and commercial reports
- Lead contract administration activities, including tendering, procurement, and variation management
- Advise clients on MEP cost drivers, value engineering, and commercial strategy
- Monitor project costs, financial performance, and contractual compliance throughout project delivery
- Support business development and help grow the M&E cost management team in Southampton and the South-West
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Contribute to the technical development of the wider team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Chartered (MRICS, CIBSE or equivalent) preferred
- Substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of chartered status
- Proven experience delivering successful pre- and post-contract MEP cost management services
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, construction costs, and procurement routes
- Ability to advise clients on cost planning, value engineering, commercial risks, and project viability
- Experience working directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Role may require security clearance
- Security vetting may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer
