About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Establish, monitor, and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)
Collate KPIs and progress data and report to senior project leaders
Develop and implement performance measurement systems, including earned value management
Develop and implement project change control processes
Chair or facilitate project-level change forums and escalate change papers for approval
Coordinate change impact assessments and support best-for-programme decisions
Lead periodic and ad hoc reporting and compile and present monthly project review packs
Integrate project schedule, cost, scope, quality, change, and risk data to assess project health
Work with planning, cost management, and risk functions and deputise for the Project Controls lead
Provide specialist advice to resolve project delays, issues, and challenges
Undertake maturity assessments and implement project controls improvement initiatives
Manage a Project Controls team where required
Set objectives, review performance, conduct appraisals, and provide formal and informal feedback
Create an empowered and creative environment for team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience managing project controls across complex infrastructure projects or programmes
Knowledge of performance measurement baselines (PMB), KPIs, and progress data for time, cost, risk, change, and quality
Experience implementing performance measurement systems such as earned value management
Experience developing and implementing project change control processes
Experience conducting change impact assessments and supporting programme-level decisions
Experience producing and presenting periodic and ad hoc project reporting and monthly review packs
Ability to integrate schedule, cost, scope, quality, change, and risk data to assess project health
Knowledge of planning, cost management, and risk functions
Specialist project controls advice and technical knowledge
Experience undertaking project controls maturity assessments and implementing improvement initiatives
Leadership and, where required, management of a Project Controls team
Ability to obtain the relevant level of security clearance if required
May require proof of residency in the UK for 5 years or longer for UKSV vetting
