About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead high-quality Traffic Control Systems projects for clients across the UK
  • Supervise delivery of Traffic Signal and ITS schemes from inception to operation
  • Undertake detailed design, FAT, SAT and validation
  • Engage with clients to provide technical advice and solutions
  • Develop opportunities and progress project delivery
  • Assist, guide and develop less experienced staff on technical delivery and project management
  • Deliver and review high-quality technical reports
  • Prepare cost estimates and scopes
  • Direct and manage projects, including monitoring budgets and raising and resolving project risks
  • Monitor project work to ensure delivery to budget, time and quality
  • Develop schemes across the UK and overseas, with potential short-term travel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • In-depth knowledge of design processes and best practice, traffic signals/highways design, and traffic signal operation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions and processes
  • Proven ability to learn new skills and rapidly understand complex technical projects
  • Good communication skills, including presentations and client meetings
  • Experience delivering outputs on multiple projects for various clients while leading small project teams
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety issues and CDM
  • Either membership of a relevant Professional Institute or willingness to become a member
  • Willingness to obtain professional registration and work toward Chartership
  • May require relevant security clearance
  • May require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer for security vetting
