About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform on- and off-court basketball instruction and engagement at basketball camps, clinics, and events hosted by Atlanta Hawks Community Basketball Programs and Hawks Basketball Academy
- Lead age-appropriate basketball skills, drills, games, and competitions for children and players ages 6–18
- Demonstrate positivity, high energy, and professionalism at Community Basketball activations
- Provide outstanding customer service to youth, parents, clients, corporate partners, and fans
- Assist with planning and execution of camps, clinics, tournaments, leagues, skills challenges, contests, and corporate partner activations
- Assist with prospecting, developing, building, and maintaining relationships with community basketball partners
- Transport basketball equipment to and from events using the Hawks marketing vehicle fleet
- Assist with event load-ins and load-outs
- Demonstrate and communicate Hawks values and Jr. NBA principles to youth participants
- Promote Atlanta Hawks Basketball Academy events, Hawks at Home, and Community Basketball programming
- Perform office and administrative duties as assigned
- Respect and uphold the Atlanta Hawks brand identity and talent
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Experience playing and coaching basketball preferred
- Experience coaching and/or teaching youth preferred
- Prior experience working basketball camps, clinics, tournaments is preferred
- The ability to work nights, weekends and holiday seasons is preferred
- Cannot be affiliated with an AAU Boys Basketball Program (NBA rule)
- Cannot work with draft ineligible players (e.g., international players, top 100 high school players)
- Must be able to provide own transportation to and from event locations throughout metro Atlanta
- Must be comfortable working in groups of people and enjoy public speaking
- Must be organized, punctual, pay attention to detail and have a team player mentality
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms
- Mandatory attendance at orientation(s), SMILE training, and company-wide training
- Valid driver’s license and driver training required prior to using a company vehicle
