About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve H&S policies and management systems
  • Ensure compliance with Chilean law, Atlas standards, and international requirements
  • Integrate H&S into development, construction, commissioning, and operations
  • Partner with project, construction, operations, and contractor teams to identify risks and close performance gaps
  • Own the electrical safety program, including energized work authorization, LOTO, arc-flash/shock risk assessments, PPE, and competency management
  • Review, approve, and audit contractor H&S and electrical safety programs
  • Lead H&S inspections, audits, assurance activities, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis
  • Design and maintain annual training and competency frameworks
  • Deliver training and coaching and develop site leaders as safety trainers and role models
  • Build and sustain a network of safety champions
  • Drive safety culture maturity using leading and lagging indicators
  • Coach managers and supervisors on visible safety leadership and consistent standards
  • Maintain H&S records, metrics, audits, and regulatory documentation
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for senior management, investors, and partners
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of exposure in construction/operation environments as manager
  • Background in management and field works
  • Background in managing HS compliance
  • OSHA standards and experience in corporate management of construction and operations sites
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the renewable energy sector or similar industries
  • Demonstrated experience managing electrical risk in high- and medium-voltage environments, including LOTO and arc-flash programs
  • Working knowledge of Chilean H&S regulations and experience interacting with local authorities and mutual insurance bodies
  • Proven experience designing and delivering H&S training programs at scale for direct employees and contractor workforces
