About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze business needs and map business processes
- Translate requirements into functional specifications guiding development
- Enable users to interact with PeopleSoft data and workflows through Appian interfaces
- Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Analyze and document business processes using BPMN standards
- Identify process inefficiencies, gaps, and automation opportunities using Appian
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces
- Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification
- Create test cases and scenarios and support system testing and user acceptance testing
- Ensure solutions meet business expectations and organizational standards
- Ensure business processes and integration points align with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows
- Run workshops and working sessions to establish clarity and consensus on requirements
- Produce process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in governed document repositories
- Travel up to 10%
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher
- U.S. Citizenship
- Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
- Strong understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and process improvement methodologies
- Experience working on Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects
- Ability to create clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Appian Certified Analyst highly preferred
- Familiarity with Appian process models, interfaces, records, and data types
- Experience with data modeling and workflow design
- Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification nice to have
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog-management tools
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering secure, high-quality solutions
- Must reside in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, or New Jersey
