About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Analyze and document business processes using BPMN standards
- Identify process inefficiencies, gaps, and automation opportunities using Appian’s capabilities
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers to design workflows, data models, and user interfaces
- Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification
- Assist in creating test cases and scenarios; support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations and comply with organizational standards
- Analyze and ensure business processes and integration points align with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflow
- Run workshops and working sessions to drive clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements
- Produce process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in document repositories with acceptable governance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher
- U.S. Citizenship
- A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- Strong understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and process improvement methodologies
- Experience working on Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects
- Ability to create clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred
- Familiarity with Appian features (process models, interfaces, records, data types, etc.)
- Experience with data modeling and workflow design
- Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification (nice to have)
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for backlog management
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering secure, high-quality solutions
