About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
Administer Red Hat virtual machines using KVM and containers using Docker/Podman
Develop software applications in Python, ReactJS, and TypeScript/JavaScript on Red Hat Linux platforms
Automate tasks using Bash or Ansible
Maintain source code in Git repositories
Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change requests (ECR) and software installation documentation
Research and resolve software trouble reports impacting application functionality
Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) IT system security guidelines, specifically STIG compliance
Work with the U.S. Navy customer on high-reliability web-based graphical interfaces for tactical network applications

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a US Citizen
Must currently possess and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
Experience developing applications using Python, ReactJS, and TypeScript/JavaScript
Background in User Interface Design / HFI
Experience developing solutions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
Strong documentation and oral communication skills
Self-motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
Passion for learning about and working in the IT industry
BS Degree in relevant technical field or combination of education and experience
CompTIA Security+
5 years developing in Python, ReactJS, and TypeScript/JavaScript
Experience with Red Hat or similar Linux distributions
Experience automating tasks using Bash or Ansible
Linux OS certification is an advantage
IP Networking experience is an advantage
Experience with Navy systems is an advantage
