About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct soil boring and groundwater monitoring well drilling and sampling activities
- Monitor groundwater and collect samples
- Install soil gas monitoring points and collect samples
- Perform underground storage tank removal soil sampling and data collection
- Produce technical reports for the Petroleum / Remediation service line
- Support Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for the Due Diligence Group
- Follow Atlas Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Occasionally respond to environmental emergencies and spills
- Collect accurate field data supporting regulatory decisions, remediation strategies, and client project outcomes
- Conduct sampling, site inspections, and field measurements to ensure compliance and keep projects on track
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. Degree in geology, biology, hydrology, environmental science, or earth science
- Physical strength, stamina and dexterity for repeatedly lifting and moving, stooping, bending, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions at various remote sites with varying terrain
- Ability to adhere to Atlas and site-specific safety standards
- Ability to travel to local and occasionally out-of-town project sites
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Spreadsheet and analytical familiarity preferred
- 40-hour OSHA HazWOPER Safety certification preferred, not required; will be provided
