About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee pipeline crossings by third parties
- Coordinate with Company crews and outside contractors to perform excavations for damage prevention
- Investigate natural gas facility damages and follow through to resolution
- Review and reconcile invoices
- Contact area excavators, municipalities, and Company personnel responsible for excavation activities
- Ensure the accuracy of Company maps and records related to damage prevention
- Complete and maintain records and reports for Company and regulatory requirements
- Identify, address, and report safety and encroachment issues through resolution
- Safely operate and inspect assigned Company vehicles and equipment
- Adhere to Company values, strategies, policies, procedures, AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety, and Code of Conduct
- Help create and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Five years of experience in natural gas construction, damage prevention, or related field experience
- In-depth knowledge of Company operations
- Must obtain and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs), classroom training, and any other required OQs, classroom training, or certifications within six months
- Valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards
- Ability to communicate, persuade, and/or influence internal or external customers at a management level on technical and/or complex matters
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to use the Company's internet/intranet website and available resources for data entry, reference, and retrieval
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in rough terrain, confined spaces, and elevated or restricted work areas
- Ability to work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call-outs, stand-by duty, and occasional extensive hours
- Ability to travel overnight and potentially satisfy a residence requirement due to call-out response time
- Ability to perform required physical activities and lift up to 45 pounds
- Acute sense of sight and hearing and strong sense of smell
- Must pass pre- and post-employment screenings, including DOT/PHMSA drug testing and MVR background checks
