About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Research, design, and implement company-wide IT projects, including MDM deployment, SSO integration, IAM management, enterprise resource provisioning, and software patching
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Manage internal hardware and IaaS infrastructure, applying best practices and ensuring high availability through firmware, security updates, and patching
Optimize IAM, DNS, DHCP, and other critical services across system environments
Use scripting and/or MDM platforms to manage user system and application updates
Keep physical and virtual systems current with security and vulnerability updates
Assist with Level I, II, and III ticket queues, user administration, security, hardware management, and day-to-day IT activities
Partner with cross-functional teams, particularly DevOps and Control Systems, on infrastructure needs
Monitor and test system/application performance, identify bottlenecks, and develop solutions
Report to the Director of IT and collaborate with engineers, physicists, and developers to support research and corporate systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS or MS in Computer Science or related STEM field
5+ years of experience in an IT role
Experience with Proxmox hypervisors and bare-metal system configuration/integration (iDRAC), and backup management
Knowledge and experience with Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows
Experience with PaaS and IaaS environments including GSuite, Office365, AWS, OKTA, and SSO (SCIM Provisioning)
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog, with SIEM integrations
Experience with advanced OKTA IAM features, automated workflows, HRIS app integration, and JIT/SCIM SSO setup and configuration
Experience with enterprise-grade MDM platforms for Windows and Mac systems; Microsoft Intune and Kandji for Macs preferred
Ability to run multiple technical projects concurrently using SaaS project management software
