About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide operational support for AVD and Citrix environments, including maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements
Monitor Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop environments and troubleshoot issues
Manage Citrix infrastructure application upgrade deployments
Optimize Citrix performance, scalability, security, high availability, monitoring, printing, and connectivity
Administer and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1912 LTSR infrastructure
Install and configure Delivery Controller, StoreFront, Director, Citrix License Server, and supporting site databases
Administer NetScaler servers, including load balancers, service monitors, SSL certificates, and firmware upgrades
Apply new Citrix cumulative updates
Create and manage Machine Catalogs and Delivery Groups; install VDAs on application-hosted servers and dedicated VMs
Migrate VMs between clusters
Monitor VirtualCenter Server and resolve host and virtual machine issues daily
Configure Azure and register AVD
Assign users and administrators
Add, create, and configure virtual machines
Configure domain controllers and virtual machines
Handle major incident calls related to AVD and Citrix

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience supporting AVD and Citrix environments
Experience with Microsoft technologies: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Windows 10, Office 365 suite, Group Policy, Active Directory, and Microsoft RDS Licensing
Experience administering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1912 LTSR infrastructure
Experience installing and configuring Delivery Controller, StoreFront, Director, Citrix License Server, and supporting site databases
Basic administration of NetScaler servers, including load balancers, service monitors, SSL certificate renewal, and firmware upgrades
Experience applying Citrix cumulative updates
Experience creating and managing Machine Catalogs and Delivery Groups, and installing VDAs on application-hosted servers and dedicated VMs
Experience migrating VMs between clusters
Experience monitoring VirtualCenter Server and resolving host and virtual machine issues
Experience with desktop/application virtualization technologies and Microsoft AVD
Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure architecture is required
Hands-on experience with AVD architecture is required
Understanding of AVD security components and networking components
Awareness of ITIL processes, including Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management
Experience handling major incident calls related to AVD and Citrix
AVD certification and relevant experience are an added advantage
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work professionally and productively with supporting departments, vendors, and consultants
Excellent interpersonal skills
