About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in delivery teams, analysing data and comparing it to requirements
- Facilitate client workshops and interviews to gather requirements and turn them into data models
- Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Inmon, Kimball, and data lakehouse models
- Define data flows for BI, Data Warehouse, and Data Migration applications, including source-to-target data mapping
- Contribute to bid and project solution architecture definitions
- Participate in pre-sales and bid efforts to define and explain BI and data management solution architectures
- Act as design authority for small to large BI or Data Management application projects
- Own delivery of the data architecture and models supporting projects
- Work directly with clients to deliver data architectures in required formats using agreed data design and modelling tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- In-depth understanding of modern data architectures, including data lakehouses, data mesh, and hyperscaler offerings
- Demonstrable experience defining and building BI/Data Warehouse logical and physical models, including normalised and dimensional models, and data lake architectures
- Expertise in at least one data modelling tool, preferably Erwin and/or IBM Rational System Architect
- Expertise in running client workshops to extract and understand client data requirements and turn them into data models
- Thorough appreciation of architecture, design, and data-related issues affecting Data Warehouse and BI applications
- Experience across relational and database technologies, including Oracle and SQL Server
- Good analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving
- Pragmatic and detail orientated
- Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills
- Demonstrable team leadership attributes
- To be eligible for SC clearance, must have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
