About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage the operation, administration, and maintenance of database environments
Ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of platforms
Participate in production deployments and business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) exercises
Perform data backup, restoration, and replication operations
Optimize database performance and carry out tuning activities
Analyze and optimize SQL queries to improve response times
Automate recurring tasks using scripting tools
Write and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Collaborate with security, network, systems, and application teams
Participate in on-call rotations and out-of-hours interventions according to the established schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need

University degree or engineering degree (equivalent to 3–5 years of higher education)
Significant experience in a similar role, ideally in complex environments, large enterprises, or the public sector
Proven experience administering critical databases
Ability to work in multi-technology environments
Strong automation and industrialization skills
Excellent organizational skills, autonomy, and analytical thinking
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Vertica, and Dataiku
Skills in database backup and restoration, replication, installation, and administration
Database performance optimization and tuning skills
SQL query optimization skills
Proficiency in Bash and Python
Database, Ansible, and GitLab CI certifications, as well as knowledge of large-enterprise or public-sector environments, would be an advantage
