About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Central Solution Team across all UK&I business lines
  • Establish and lead a centrally governed solutioning function
  • Define the strategic roadmap for solution standardization, governance, and integration
  • Build, lead, and mentor industry-aligned solution leads and specialist solution architects
  • Manage resources for pre-sales and bid activity
  • Forecast capacity and capability growth requirements
  • Work with the CTO and Enterprise Architecture communities across business lines
  • Assess pre-sales opportunities and act as the point of contact for bid responses
  • Oversee the end-to-end solution design lifecycle, including qualification, shaping, risk assessment, governance, approval, and handover to delivery
  • Lead the Solution Design Authority and ensure architecture quality, scope integrity, and delivery alignment
  • Provide oversight of deal economics, margin protection, pricing validation, and risk mitigation
  • Support commercial approval board submissions and reduce bid cost, cycle time, and commercial exposure
  • Drive cross-industry solution reuse and incorporate innovation into standard offerings
  • Collaborate with business lines to evolve service offerings in line with market demand
  • Partner with Sales, Bid Management, Delivery, Commercial, Legal, and Risk teams
  • Ensure seamless transition from solution to delivery, including risk logs, scope definitions, and transition artefacts
  • Establish lessons-learned mechanisms and embed continuous improvement
  • Manage KPIs covering win rate, margin variance, write-offs, scope creep, bid cost, solution reuse, bid cycle time, governance adherence, breaches, escalations, proposal quality, compliance, and solution clarity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary solution architecture teams
  • Strong understanding of managed services, consulting, and technology delivery models
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory, contractual, and commercial standards
  • Experience with solution design, governance, approval, and delivery handover
  • Experience with deal economics, margin protection, pricing validation, and risk mitigation
  • Experience working with pre-sales, bid management, delivery, commercial, legal, and risk teams
  • Ability to lead solution standardization, governance, and integration across UK&I business lines
  • Ability to manage resources and forecast workforce capacity and capability requirements
  • Ability to work within enterprise architecture guiderails
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and embed consistent solutioning practices
