About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end architecture and technical design of Pega applications
- Lead solution design across case management, workflows, data models, integrations, security, and user experience
- Define application architecture, reusable components, enterprise design patterns, and implementation standards
- Provide technical leadership to Pega Senior System Architects, System Architects, and development teams
- Review solution designs and implementation approaches for compliance with Pega guardrails and engineering best practices
- Lead complex technical design decisions and resolve architecture and performance challenges
- Design scalable integration patterns using REST APIs, services, connectors, data pages, messaging, and enterprise integration technologies
- Define authentication, authorization, access control, and security architecture
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, resilience, security, and maintainability requirements
- Establish application monitoring, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting approaches
- Define DevOps, CI/CD, branching, deployment, and release management approaches for Pega applications
- Support production readiness, deployment planning, and technical assurance activities
- Collaborate with Business Architects, Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, Security Architects, and Integration Architects
- Translate business requirements into Pega architecture and technical solutions
- Lead technical workshops and communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Mentor Pega engineers and develop engineering capability across delivery teams
- Perform design and code reviews and manage technical debt
- Support estimation, delivery planning, technical risk management, and dependency management
- Act as the Pega technical authority and escalation point throughout the delivery lifecycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using the Pega Platform
- Strong experience working as a Pega Lead System Architect or Solution Architect on large and complex programmes
- Deep knowledge of Pega case management, application architecture, data modelling, and integration
- Strong understanding of Pega application design principles, guardrails, and reusable architecture
- Strong experience with REST APIs, integration services, connectors, and enterprise integration patterns
- Experience designing secure Pega solutions including authentication, authorization, and role-based/attribute-based access controls
- Strong knowledge of Pega performance optimisation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Pega DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and enterprise deployment approaches
- Experience delivering solutions within Agile/Scrum environments
- Ability to lead multiple Pega development teams and provide architecture governance across workstreams
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills
- Ability to explain complex architecture decisions to senior business and technology stakeholders
- Mandatory Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CPLSA/CLSA) certification
- Experience with Pega Infinity '24/'25 or later is desirable
- Experience with Pega Constellation architecture and DX API is desirable
- To be eligible for SC clearance, must have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
