About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate interactions and coordination among HFO, DOE Headquarters and other DOE elements involving DNFSB and oversight stakeholders
  • Monitor oversight activities and advise the Nuclear Safety Division of significant issues, emerging concerns and potential sensitivities
  • Serve as support to HFO’s point of contact with DNFSB, DOE Headquarters and other oversight stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve interface plans, processes, tracking tools and procedures
  • Coordinate responses to recommendations, commitments, corrective actions and other oversight actions
  • Track and facilitate responses to inquiries, information requests, document requests and communications
  • Review and coordinate report submittals, document reviews, comment resolution, concurrences, meeting packages and correspondence
  • Coordinate documents and publications for transmittal to oversight stakeholders
  • Support site visits through agendas, meetings, correspondence, briefings, tours, records, training, access, badging, transportation and dosimetry coordination
  • Support audits, assessments, reviews and evaluations, including entrance meetings, exit meetings and briefings
  • Review contractor presentations and briefings and provide feedback to the Nuclear Safety Division
  • Attend oversight reviews, meetings and briefings
  • Identify, document and track commitments and action items through completion
  • Develop, maintain and report responsiveness metrics
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc status reports
  • Provide support for emerging issues, special assignments and time-sensitive activities
  • Apply judgment and initiative to resolve coordination issues and identify follow-up actions
  • Maintain professional, clear, respectful and collaborative communications with stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 9 years of directly applicable experience
  • Working-level knowledge of interfacing with Hanford stakeholders
  • Experience coordinating Hanford Site visits and tracking and reporting interactions and requests
  • Working-level knowledge of HFO mission, activities and priorities
  • Skilled in problem identification and resolution
  • Familiarity, relevant experience or ability to perform under Hanford or other government agency procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and/or other Microsoft Office tools
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance
  • Ability to interface with DNFSB, DOE Headquarters and other DOE oversight stakeholders
  • Working-level knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures
  • Working-level knowledge of DOE program management practices, policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication responsiveness and customer service skills
