About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive the technical direction of AudioEye’s platform and solve complex digital accessibility challenges
- Design and build large-scale, reliable systems that detect, remediate, and prevent accessibility issues across millions of websites
- Technically lead one or more engineering teams through needs assessment, system design, implementation, and operations automation
- Drive the technical roadmap while balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability
- Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to build reliable, secure, and data-consistent systems
- Build web-scale systems using service-oriented architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and end-to-end delivery
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic workflows to design, build, test, and operate software
- Evaluate AI development tools and adopt those that improve delivery
- Mentor and coach engineers on requirements, system design, problem-solving, and AI-assisted development
- Define team standards for responsible AI use across code review, testing, security, and data handling
- Identify opportunities to build AI capabilities into products and internal tooling
- Build a culture of quality and engineering excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of engineering experience with design, implementation, and operations of critical systems
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional environments and making engineering and system-level decisions and tradeoffs
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including React and Node.js
- Experience with relational, NoSQL, and document/object storage
- Proven record of solving deep problems in distributed systems and real-time data technologies
- Experience building and operating secure, compliant, scalable systems
- Experience leading large projects across multiple teams and mentoring junior and senior engineers
- Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted and agentic development
- Sound judgment on where AI helps or adds risk, with ability to validate generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability
- Experience coaching engineers to adopt AI-assisted workflows
- Autonomy, ownership, adaptability, and strong engineering practices
