About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect, build, and optimize a high-performance advertising platform for Audiohook
- Build and optimize a performance-based advertising service capable of servicing 10B requests per day
- Optimize machine-learning bidding algorithms to increase profitability by 20% within 3 months of hiring
- Architect data pipelines capable of handling big-data workloads
- Maintain data integrity between the data lake and reporting caches
- Reduce data-processing costs by 10% within 6 months of hiring
- Complete 10–12 story points per week
- Present progress and demos in company stand-up meetings twice a week

Requirements
What you’ll need- Expert-level mastery of Python, Go, or Node.js; able to work in Python
- Experience with high-performance advertising platforms, machine learning, and big data workloads
- Ability to own product-level architecture, projects, and personal tasks
- Collaborative approach to pair programming, whiteboarding, code reviews, and product/business discussions
- Ability to participate in daily discussions and take calculated risks
- Understanding of trade-offs between short-term profitability and long-term stability
- Willingness to travel to Utah up to 1 week per month for in-office collaborative work if remote
- Understanding of the strengths and pitfalls of AI agents and frequent use of them to collaborate on, review, and write code
- Willingness to travel to Utah up to 1 week per quarter for in-office collaborative work, as stated in the application question
