About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver current, industry-relevant accounting instruction and support student success and workforce readiness
- Implement, revise, and evaluate assigned program coursework and instructional materials in alignment with state standards, accreditation requirements, and the approved curriculum
- Develop and maintain course outlines, program objectives, syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials
- Deliver day, evening, and online instruction for traditional and dual-enrolled students based on institutional needs and teaching load
- Evaluate and document student progress, performance, knowledge, and skill attainment and provide timely feedback
- Coordinate and supervise experiential learning, including live work, practicums, simulated environments, and internships
- Maintain student attendance records and accurately report no-shows
- Request and maintain instructional supplies, tools, and equipment and submit budget requests
- Maintain applicable program, licensure, and industry certification requirements
- Prepare instructional, accreditation, and administrative documentation and reports
- Develop and implement lab management and safety plans
- Communicate with students, staff, faculty, employers, and external partners regarding instructional programs and student progress
- Provide academic and career advisement, including career pathways, employment opportunities, and workforce preparation
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement activities
- Recruit and encourage participation from underrepresented genders in nontraditional programs
- Maintain contact with business and industry partners regarding technological advancements, workforce trends, community needs, and student employment opportunities
- Participate in assessment, planning, budgeting, professional development, faculty evaluation, and annual Campus Security Authority training when applicable
- Comply with State Board and college policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, or a Master’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting including a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate quarter hours from an accredited college or university
- Three years of relevant work experience within the past seven years
- Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain course outlines, program objectives, syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials
- Knowledge of pedagogical practices, instructional theory, academic standards, and technical education
- Skill in classroom and laboratory instruction, assessing student learning, instructional technology, computers, and job-related software
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Experience with online learning platforms preferred
