About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide instruction to students in classroom and clinical settings
  • Prepare syllabi and lesson plans
  • Develop program goals and objectives
  • Evaluate student progress toward goals and objectives
  • Teach all phases of the curriculum
  • Use appropriate teaching, testing, grading, communication, and record-keeping procedures
  • Follow approved course syllabi and TCSG policies and institutional procedures
  • Maintain program requirements and complete professional development training
  • Meet with students and college personnel regarding instructional programs and other issues
  • Complete reports, records, and invoices promptly
  • Maintain accurate inventory of assigned property
  • Teach traditional day, evening, and/or online classes
  • Travel within the college service area and to clinical sites as needed
  • Work across Warner Robins and Macon campuses and potentially other campus/site locations based on college business needs
  • Use face-to-face and distance instructional delivery methods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) and an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • Must hold an active Dental Hygiene license in good standing in the state of Georgia
  • Must hold an active BLS/CPR card
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical dental hygiene experience within the last seven (7) years
  • Occupational experience must meet the current requirements of the appropriate licensing board for the area of instruction
  • Must upload transcripts showing conferred educational degrees and document qualifications in employment history
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the assigned course
  • Preferred: documented teaching experience at the postsecondary level
  • Preferred: earned Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Dental Hygiene or a related field from an appropriately accredited academic institution
  • Must complete a full electronic application and provide supporting documentation by the stated deadline
  • Applicants for instructional positions are asked to provide a resume in addition to completing the CGTC application
  • Postsecondary transcripts must demonstrate degree conferral where applicable
  • Non-photo licenses and/or certifications fulfilling stated qualifications must be submitted
  • Subject to criminal history, motor vehicle, employment reference, drug, fingerprint, credit history, psychological, and medical screenings
