About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide theory and/or practical instruction for the Associate's Nursing program on the Effingham Campus
  • Supervise students during patient care
  • Prepare lesson plans for nursing occupational courses
  • Instruct students and develop program syllabi, goals, and objectives
  • Develop, manage, and teach classes individually and as part of a team
  • Develop and coordinate curriculum and conduct course assessments
  • Complete reports and information requests for internal and external departments and agencies
  • Ensure compliance with Georgia Board of Nursing standards, rules, regulations, and expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends through staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Follow Savannah Technical College policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally with college employees, students, community partners, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Registered Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing; license cannot have probation, suspended, expired, lapsed, inactive, pending, renewal pending, revoked, or surrendered status
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience
  • Flexibility to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations on weekdays and/or nights or weekends
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurability
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check
  • Master's degree in nursing preferred
  • Experience teaching adults and/or supervising nursing students in a clinical setting preferred
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience preferred
