About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach courses as directed by the program chair
- Become familiar with program outcomes and course materials
- Complete training in Blackboard learning platform, TCSG curricular standards, and program goals
- Implement course instruction to meet TCSG curricular competencies based on the approved course syllabus
- Ensure desired course outcomes meet stated objectives
- Administer and grade class examinations
- Maintain current and accurate student records
- Submit grades, reports, and forms within requested timelines
- Submit course-related reports upon request by the program chair or academic dean
- Evaluate students’ progress toward course goals and objectives
- Provide periodic student performance appraisals to the program chair and/or full-time faculty
- Participate in the annual review, evaluation, and recommendation of textbooks and learning materials
- Ensure safety and security requirements in training areas
- Attend programmatic meetings, training, workshops, and seminars as needed
- Complete all required employee trainings
- Meet with students, staff members, and supervisors as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma in Cosmetology or a related field
- Valid Georgia Master Cosmetologist License
- Five (5) years’ experience in the industry
- Ability to teach day and/or evening class
- Ability to complete training in Blackboard learning platform, TCSG curricular standards, and program goals
- Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
- Successful completion of credit and/or all appropriate background checks
- Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher
- Preferred: Work experience in the Cosmetology industry focused on Service Station Set Up, Infection Control Procedures, Styling, Haircutting, Hair and Scalp Treatments, Chemical Services, Skin Care, and Nail Services
- Preferred: Experience with TCSG cosmetology program
- Preferred: Additional certifications in industry
- Preferred: Knowledge with NIC licensure exams
- Submit a cover letter, resume/vita, three (3) professional references, and unofficial transcripts
- Official transcripts required upon an offer of employment
