About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide theory and practical instruction for Cyber and Related Programs
  • Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction
  • Instruct students and develop programs, syllabi, goals, and objectives
  • Use varied teaching methods to facilitate adult learning and provide individual educational assistance
  • Develop and manage curriculum, including work ethics, fire prevention, health, and safety procedures
  • Evaluate student progress toward goals and objectives
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends through staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Meet with students, staff, and educators regarding instructional programs and student progress
  • Apply Savannah Technical College and Technical College System of Georgia academic policies and procedures consistently
  • Provide lecture, student advisement, and registration on a flexible schedule
  • Work split teaching shifts, split teaching days, and/or across multiple campuses as needed
  • Maintain an acceptable number of students within the program
  • Maximize student placements by working with local employers and the Department of Labor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of full-time, paid, Cyber-related and/or Computer Information Systems work experience within the past seven (7) years
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching in academic programs, including Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related fields
  • Proven experience in maintaining lesson plans and course notebooks that reflect current curriculum
  • Experience in designing and implementing quality improvement programs
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check

  • All male applicants between the ages of 18 and 26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration
  • Must be willing and able to travel between assigned instructional locations
  • May be required to submit a valid Driver’s License, proof of insurability, and/or a driver’s history report for positions involving state travel
