About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide instruction to students in classroom settings
- Prepare syllabi and lesson plans
- Develop program goals and objectives
- Teach all phases of the curriculum
- Use appropriate teaching, testing, grading, oral communication, written communication, and record-keeping procedures
- Follow the approved course syllabus
- Maintain program requirements and complete professional development training
- Meet with students and college personnel regarding instructional programs and other issues
- Evaluate student progress toward goals and objectives
- Complete reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate inventory of assigned properties
- Potentially serve as a lead instructor and mentor adjunct faculty
- Teach traditional day, evening, or online classes
- Travel within the college service area and as needed
- Teach scheduled PHLT 1030 lecture and PHLT 1050 lab courses
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by a nationally recognized organization (e.g. AMT, ASPT, NCCT) OR Current Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (e.g. ASCP, AMT)
- 2 years experience as a certified phlebotomy technician or medical laboratory technician
- Candidate must upload a current resume
- Candidate must complete the CGTC Job Application
- Candidate must provide all transcripts from academic institutions where post-secondary credit was earned and showing conferred educational degrees
- Must maintain qualifications for employment under the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards
- Must complete applicable pre-employment screenings, including criminal history, motor vehicle records, employment references, drug test, fingerprint records, credit history, psychological screening, and medical examination
- Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the assigned course

- CGTC is a member of Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Georgia (ERS), although adjunct positions are not eligible for TRS or ERS retirement benefits, state insurance, leave or holiday pay.
