About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the JVSG Program Manager with overseeing day-to-day JVSG staff activities
- Assist with assigning tasks, monitoring workload distribution, and ensuring adherence to federal JVSG requirements
- Lead, coach, and mentor JVSG team members
- Provide routine guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities
- Conduct regular staff meetings to review priorities, performance, case management practices, service delivery outcomes, and case file audits
- Complete performance evaluations and corrective action plans
- Monitor and track staff schedules, leave usage, and adherence to operational protocols
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and enforcing JVSG program policy and operational guidance
- Co-develop, implement, and facilitate JVSG training
- Ensure consistent delivery of federal guidance, best practices, and program updates
- Strengthen strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct case management audits, assess employment outcomes, and verify adherence to LVER and DVOP duties per federal guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a qualified, eligible veteran
- DD-214 and Disability Rating Certificate from the Veterans Administration required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR Associate’s degree in a related field plus two years of related experience; OR four years of related experience; OR two years of experience at the lower-level Employment Services Specialist or equivalent position
- Knowledge of Veterans programs under Federal regulations Title 38, specifically the JVSG program
- Willingness and ability to travel when necessary
- Preferred: knowledge of the JVSG program at local, State, or Federal level
- Preferred: minimum of 3 years’ experience in strategic planning, program development, and implementation
- Preferred: knowledge of WIOA and Wagner-Peyser Act
- Preferred: four years of experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance and counseling
- Preferred: two years of experience serving special-needs populations with significant barriers to employment
- Preferred: one year of experience leading/facilitating groups and conducting monitoring reviews of workforce-related programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience delivering group presentations and trainings
- Time and task management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Intermediate computer skills and ability to adapt to job-related software programs
- Organizational and project management skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal relations and customer service skills
