About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all aspects of instruction for the specific discipline
- Provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards
- Instruct courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment
- Prepare course syllabi using the provided template
- Utilize current technology in the classroom/lab
- Evaluate students’ progress toward goals and objectives
- Grade all coursework in a timely manner
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area
- Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline
- Collaborate with faculty to establish, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes
- Submit student learning outcomes information to the appropriate program director
- Support the Program Director and Division Dean/Associate Dean
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
- Request and maintain supplies and equipment
- Perform other assigned activities and duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Business Education or master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
- Valid Driver’s License
- Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
- Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education
- Knowledge of academic course standards
- Knowledge of the College’s academic programs
- Skill to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff
- Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom/lab content
- Skill to make timely decisions
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
- Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Skill in accurate grade keeping
- Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to respond to all emails and requests within 24 hours Monday-Thursday and within 48 hours on weekends (Friday – Sunday)
