About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare lesson plans for credited technical/occupational courses
  • Prepare standardized course syllabi using a provided template
  • Assess students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements
  • Attend required professional development training for specific classroom or online course delivery
  • Teach Cosmetology courses in classroom, lab, and field environments that simulate the industry environment
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in Cosmetology
  • Provide instruction in Cosmetology theory and practical applications
  • Measure program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success
  • Teach courses face-to-face unless otherwise indicated
  • Work courses offered Monday through Thursday during morning and evening hours, with dual enrollment courses Monday through Friday

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent
  • Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience
  • Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Master Cosmetologist License
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population
  • Ability to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday
  • Upload transcripts, resumes, and certifications with the application
  • Preferred: Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Cosmetology Instructor License
  • Preferred: Cosmetology teaching experience
  • Preferred: Associate degree in cosmetology or related
  • Preferred: Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
