  • Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and clinical settings using appropriate teaching methods
  • Evaluate instruction and learning through testing and evaluation methods
  • Maintain and submit accurate reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up
  • Coordinate cooperative work experience programs and assigned students
  • Assist with reports and information requests from internal and external departments and agencies
  • Ensure compliance with dental hygiene accreditation standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas
  • Maintain a student-oriented approach to education
  • Attend faculty and other assigned meetings
  • Maintain safe and desirable classroom, laboratory, and clinical conditions
  • Maintain current knowledge through staff development training, workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional publications
  • Follow Savannah Technical College policies and procedures
  • Attend professional and specialty courses
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Georgia Dental Hygiene or Dentist Licensure in good standing with the Georgia Board of Dentistry
  • Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene or related field from an accredited, post-secondary institution
  • Must be flexible to teach day, evening, or weekend classes
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurability
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of the course(s) or program appropriate to the assignment as an assistant
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or higher in dental hygiene or related field
  • Preferred: Two years clinical practice experience
  • Preferred: Experience teaching adults and/or supervising students in a clinical setting
  • Preferred: American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver Instructor
