About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide state-approved trainings and coaching services to eligible early care and learning programs and professionals
  • Provide quality improvement coaching to Child Care Learning Centers and Family Child Care Learning Homes participating in Quality Rated
  • Conduct provider and center assessments to determine success factors and readiness for coaching
  • Provide training on the coaching process, expectations, and available resources
  • Develop Plans of Action collaboratively with providers or center directors
  • Assist with Plan of Action implementation through coaching visits, consultations, equipment advice, training, community-resource linkages, and professional development opportunities
  • Track coaching and professional learning activities and maintain assigned data
  • Maintain records and fiscal reporting requirements
  • Generate reports, provide outcome feedback, identify barriers and solutions, and present progress updates
  • Maintain proficiency in ITERS, ECERS, FCCERS, SACERS, and Quality Rated
  • Develop and conduct provider education and training
  • Provide TFTs to staff members
  • Market and facilitate Professional Learning Communities
  • Maintain designation through DECAL’s Early Learning Coach Designation program and trainer level through DECAL’s GaPDS
  • Comply with supervising-agency regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, family and consumer sciences, early childhood education or related field, or equivalent related work experience substituting for the degree on a year-for-year basis
  • Two (2) years related work experience
  • Must be able to meet the state trainer requirements prescribed by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL)
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Georgia child care rules and regulations and early childhood best practices
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in partnership with team members
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use a networked database and Outlook
  • Personal vehicle, valid Driver’s license, and appropriate insurance
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check
  • Must submit an electronic application with cover letter and resume
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • All male applicants between ages 18 and 26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration
