About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work daily with servers, switches, and databases
Prepare reports in requested formats and time frames
Manipulate and extract database data using MySQL for business intelligence and custom reporting
Develop ad-hoc PowerShell, Bash, and Batch automation scripts for administrative tasks, user provisioning, and workflow optimization
Monitor core network infrastructure and configure switches, access points, and DHCP protocols
Assist with Active Directory management and provision user accounts and access permissions
Maintain Windows and Linux server operating systems for availability and security
Manage assigned daily tickets
Create detailed technical documentation of processes and systems
Collaborate with teams to deliver projects and data
Research administrative system issues and products
Develop or assist with department policies and procedures and recommend changes
Maintain knowledge of assigned department and update management on services, operations, and projects
Participate in meetings aligning department goals with agency or technical college goals
Evaluate services regularly and adjust as needed
Maintain working relationships with internal and external customers and serve as a liaison
Stay current with policies, procedures, and state or federal laws affecting department initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma and certifications in related field(s)
Experience may substitute for certifications
Minimum qualifications also state: High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of work related experience
Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher and certifications in related field(s)
Preferred: Three (3) years of full-time work experience installing and maintaining infrastructure hardware and software such as servers, networks, computers, and databases
Industry certifications such as MCSE or CCNA
Database management experience, including MySQL
Strong PowerShell scripting and Python experience; ability to write a basic script from scratch on demand
Cisco networking experience
Comfortability with Cisco IOS/IOS XE/NX-OS CLI
Experience with Cisco cloud platforms such as Meraki and Intersight
Linux experience, including CLI
Virtualization proficiency; Nutanix and VMware experience a plus
Management of data center infrastructure such as rack/blade servers, network switches, and SANs
Experience in application deployment, compliance, and software updates using tools such as Intune, PDQ, and SCCM
Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, M365, and cloud compute platforms; Azure and AWS experience a plus
