About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Instruct students in Adult Education High School Equivalency (HSE)/GED preparation classes.
  • Develop program syllabi, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluate students’ progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Ensure student learning outcomes are attained and appropriately recorded.
  • Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments through staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Ensure classroom safety and security requirements are met.
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and issues affecting student progress.
  • Work a flexible lecture schedule and split teaching shifts across campus locations.
  • Maintain an acceptable number of students and maximize positive student outcomes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor' degree related to core subject matter: Mathematics; Science; English Language Arts; Social Studies.
  • One year of full-time (or equivalent), paid teaching experience.
  • Excellent human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be willing to work split teaching shifts that might require split teaching days between campus locations.
  • Must submit an electronic application through Team Georgia Careers with cover letter and resume.
  • Position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening, education verification, reference, motor vehicle records, criminal background checks and credit history checks.
  • Male applicants between ages 18 and 26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration.
  • May be required to submit a valid Driver’s License, proof of insurability, and/or a driver’s history report for positions involving state travel.
