About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach subject areas contained in the GED Tests under supervision of the Director of Adult Education – Special Programs
- Prepare lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards
- Provide learner guidance to students
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and reports
- Plan, organize, and participate in Chattahoochee Technical College and Office of Adult Education staff development
- Maintain a secure classroom environment
- Work Wednesday evenings from 5PM–9PM with an additional 0.75 hours of planning, virtual or in-person
- Participate in occasional in-person training on-site when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, preferably in education, math, science, business or a related field
- Teaching and classroom management experience at the secondary or post-secondary level
- Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university
- Cover letter, resume, and transcript (if applicable) required for a complete application
- Pre-employment criminal background check
- Motor vehicle records review
- Employer/professional reference verification
- Additional documentation may be requested
- Ability to teach subject areas contained in the GED Tests
- Ability to prepare lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards
- Ability to provide learner guidance and evaluate student progress
- Ability to prepare and maintain required documentation and reports
- Ability to maintain a secure classroom environment
