About the role

  • Instruct students in psychology
  • Develop program syllabi, goals, and objectives
  • Evaluate students' progress toward goals and objectives
  • Ensure student learning outcomes are attained and appropriately recorded
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment
  • Maintain program certification requirements as appropriate
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports
  • Attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences to maintain knowledge of current trends and developments
  • Ensure classroom safety and security requirements are met
  • Provide academic advisement to students
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators regarding instructional programs and issues affecting student progress
  • Conduct lectures, student advisement, and registration
  • Work split teaching shifts and split teaching days between campus locations as required
  • Manage and recruit adjuncts as required
  • Maintain an acceptable number of students in the program
  • Maximize student placements in the field or related fields by working with local employers and the Department of Labor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's of Art or Master's of Science degree in Psychology, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology courses from a regionally accredited institution
  • One year of paid teaching experience
  • Excellent human-relations and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check
  • Applicants must submit an electronic application through Team Georgia Careers
  • Applicants must attach a cover letter and resume
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for assigned courses
  • All male applicants between ages 18 and 26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration
  • Candidates may be required to submit a valid driver's license, proof of insurability, and/or a driver's history report for positions involving state travel
