About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as technical lead and single point of contact for project teams on primarily Romania-focused initiatives
- Oversee all technical matters across assigned projects
- Support Project Development from early development through Ready To Build and Financial Close
- Support Project Management across technical aspects during construction, commissioning, PAC, and FAC
- Lead technical assessment of project acquisition opportunities, including management of external Technical Advisors during due diligence
- Review project information and define designs and main equipment based on site conditions and techno-economic criteria
- Undertake LCOE optimisation to maximise project commercial performance
- Identify project constraints and risks, propose mitigants, and adjust designs
- Lead development of Owner's Requirements and EPC Contract Technical Appendices
- Lead development of Basic Design for EPC requests for proposals
- Review EPC Contractor bids, reports, orders, and claims for compliance and support negotiations
- Procure, coordinate, and manage Technical Advisor services
- Review Technical Advisor analyses and reports, provide comments, and lead appropriate follow-up actions
- Lead and coordinate technical review of EPC Contractor detailed design
- Undertake site visits to greenfield sites and sites under construction
- Collaborate with Development, Investment, Procurement, and Construction teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven track record with large-scale Solar PV in Europe in a similar role, on the Developer, IPP, or Technical Advisor side
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV plant components, including modules, inverters, structures, and trackers
- Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and/or Wind technologies is a plus
- Strong knowledge of layouts and Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) development
- Good knowledge of factors affecting PV, BESS, and/or Wind plant performance
- Experience with PVsyst, PVdesign, AutoCAD, and/or other Solar, BESS, or Wind modelling software
- Experience with EPC/O&M contracts, including Technical Appendices
- Experience in BESS and/or Wind projects is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Master's degree in Renewable Energy or related field required
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Fluent Romanian
- Fluency in any other European language is a plus
- Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines, prioritise effectively, and manage own workload
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
- Flexible and proactive attitude, with willingness to take responsibility and use initiative
- Understanding of contractors, consultants, network operators, equipment suppliers, permitting authorities, and other project stakeholders
