About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead delivery of geotechnical services across multidisciplinary projects from feasibility and concept design through detailed design and construction
  • Lead and manage medium to large-scale geotechnical investigations and design packages, including scope, programme, budget, resourcing, risk and quality
  • Provide technical leadership on complex geotechnical problems and direct and review advanced analysis using PLAXIS, GeoStudio and Rocscience
  • Manage, review and lead proposals and tenders, including scope development, delivery strategy and commercial inputs
  • Build and maintain client relationships, identify and shape opportunities, and support business development
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and geologists
  • Drive technical excellence through technical review, relevant standards, and development and sharing of geotechnical knowledge
  • Manage multidisciplinary interfaces to achieve integrated, practical and commercially appropriate design solutions
  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing across project delivery and client interactions
  • Resolve complex project and client challenges using communication, commercial judgement and technical expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years’ geotechnical engineering experience
  • CPEng and relevant professional registration
  • Strong technical capability with experience leading and reviewing complex geotechnical design and investigations
  • Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and driving client focused outcomes
  • Proven leadership, mentoring and development of engineers and geologists
  • Involvement in industry bodies such as AGS (desirable)
  • Australian citizen (desirable)
  • Desirable eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance; Aurecon will support successful applicants through the relevant clearance process where required
  • Strong written and verbal communication, commercial judgement and technical expertise
