About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to major substation refurbishment and new-build projects across New Zealand
- Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation with senior guidance
- Coordinate with drafters and complete initial quality checks
- Gain exposure to Australian energy infrastructure and data centre projects
- Build technical, design review and client-facing capability
- Contribute to transmission, distribution and energy infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with project teams and clients to deliver infrastructure and assets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (bachelor’s degree in electrical, Power systems, etc.)
- Around three to four years' practical high voltage substation design experience in either Primary, secondary or Protection design
- Experience with cable sizing, busbar sizing, secondary & controls, Protection, and substation layouts
- Familiarity with relevant IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards
- Ability to deliver quality work with direction, without requiring day-to-day supervision
