About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to major substation refurbishment and new-build projects across New Zealand
  • Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications, and design documentation with senior guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant electrical engineering qualification, including a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field
  • Around three to four years' practical high voltage substation design experience in Primary, secondary, or Protection design
  • Experience with cable sizing, busbar sizing, secondary and controls, protection, and substation layouts
  • Familiarity with relevant IEC, IEEE, and AS/NZS standards
  • Working knowledge of relevant IEC, IEEE, and AS/NZS standards
  • Ability to deliver defined design packages with proportionate senior oversight
