About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver mechanical engineering work across brownfield and sustaining capital projects
  • Develop and assess engineering options and support practical recommendations for clients and project teams
  • Contribute to projects from early-stage studies through to delivery and site support
  • Build working relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes
  • Apply engineering judgement to operational and technical challenges
  • Engage directly with clients and understand industrial facility operations
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical documentation and design deliverables
  • Travel to client sites across New Zealand to support projects and understand client operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, dairy, food & beverage, energy, or processing environments
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and sound engineering judgement
  • Experience delivering engineering projects, work packages or technical studies
  • Ability to assess technical options and communicate recommendations clearly
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working within brownfield or operating industrial environments
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Consulting and/or site-based experience within process industries highly regarded
  • Regular travel to client sites across New Zealand
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement combining office-based engineering, client engagement and site involvement
