About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Undertake designs for major road infrastructure projects across NSW
- Coordinate design development and work with other team members
- Manage design teams and collaborate with project managers, engineers and discipline leads
- Deliver quality products within agreed time and budget
- Prepare work with CAD drafters, including transferring data from 3D to 2D
- Contribute road design input to project proposals and bidding stages
- Prepare design models for digital issue to the end client and construction purposes
- Lead road design modelling work on major joint venture projects
- Contribute to the digital strategy for the Roads and Highways team
- Participate in the computational design team
- Manage and mentor junior staff
- Participate in client meetings and workshops when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design using NSW Supplements and Australian Standards
- Thorough understanding of road design using 12D software
- Strong knowledge of data transfer between key software packages
- Experience managing design teams of designers and drafters
- CAD skills at a reasonable level preferred
- Extensive TfNSW road infrastructure design experience across urban, rural and motorway design
- Knowledge of BIM
- Ability to work on major projects in a joint venture environment
- Ability to lead road design modelling work
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff
- Client-focused attitude
- Experience participating in client meetings and workshops when required
