About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and teach Culinary and/or Pastry/Baking courses using varied instructional strategies
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback
- Provide nondiscriminatory teaching and mentoring services
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities
- Perform other related tasks assigned by department leadership
- Use Blackboard or another learning management system to develop course content and perform administrative duties
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve retention and success
- Comply with college policies and professional standards for community college teaching
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards; no substitution for educational requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and classroom technologies
- Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard
- Ability to prepare and teach Culinary and/or Pastry/Baking courses to a diverse student population
- Ability to meet deadlines for attendance certification and final course grades
- Ability to maintain regular office hours
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to work safely and follow safety rules
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull
- Must maintain a domicile in the State of Texas throughout employment
