About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and teach Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing courses using approved learning outcomes and varied instructional strategies
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback
- Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities
- Use the college learning management system to develop course content and perform administrative duties
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and final course grades
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students
- Participate in collegewide, campus, department, and other activities and meetings
- Participate in graduation, general assembly, and other official college functions
- Follow safety rules and report unsafe working conditions or behavior
- Perform other related tasks assigned by department and college leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in Auto Body Repair Technology
- 3 years non-teaching work experience
- I-CAR Pro Level Certifications
- I-CAR Welding Certification (Steel) and Aluminum optional
- Certifications from Paint Manufacturers
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom
- Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard
- Ability to prepare and teach courses to a multicultural student population
- Ability to evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback
- Ability to comply with college policies and professional standards for community college teaching
- Unofficial or copy of transcripts
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) or Résumé
- Cover letter explaining interest in the position
- Austin Community College employees must maintain a domicile in the State of Texas throughout employment
