About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the SVP, Legal Services & General Counsel
- Manage ATP’s compliance with the Texas Public Information Act, including administration and maintenance of the TPIA management software system
- Communicate with information requestors, ATP records custodians, and the Texas Attorney General’s Office
- Secure determinations on potential exceptions to disclosure of records
- Prepare and produce records as required under the TPIA
- Manage ATP’s records management program, including policy development, organization, upkeep, and retention of legal, business, and Board of Directors records
- Support administrative tasks and backup work for ATP Board of Directors meetings and activities
- Process Board agenda materials and post-meeting follow-up activities
- Communicate with ATP staff and Board members
- Administer ATP’s Board meeting software system, currently eScribe
- Support Legal Services administrative tasks, including document preparation, invoice approval, research, budget planning, procurement activities, and special projects
- Train ATP employees on compliance and process requirements in the areas of primary responsibility
- May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in public administration, paralegal studies, business administration, or a related field
- Seven years of experience with paralegal or related responsibilities in a legal, administrative, or executive environment
- Three years of supervisory or project management experience
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics consistent with the required qualifications
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Direct experience in compliance with the Texas Public Information Act and/or the Texas Open Meetings Act preferred
- Familiarity with Granicus GovQA, eScribe, Microsoft Office, and Oracle preferred
- Knowledge of records management systems, including creation, storage, access, and disposition
- Proficiency in electronic document management systems, databases, and data security protocols
- Knowledge of legal compliance standards applicable to an entity such as ATP
- Skill and experience in conducting legal research
- Proficiency using business and communications software, preferably Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to maintain multiple tasks and processes simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented office environment
