About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote Lifeblood’s work, build brand awareness and support its reputation with internal and external audiences
- Manage media relations, social media, content creation and communications support
- Develop communications materials and create social media and multimedia content
- Support CEO communications and broader corporate affairs priorities
- Coordinate Lifeblood’s video and photo newsroom
- Take photos and film and edit video content for media opportunities and executive communications
- Execute proactive local, regional and national media opportunities
- Prepare media materials for spokespeople
- Collaborate with marketing, internal communications and other teams on campaigns and integrated communications activities
- Deliver consistent communications across channels
- Engage with donors, recipients and their families, health service providers and other stakeholders
- Report to the Senior Media Manager, Strategic Engagement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree level qualifications in communications, journalism or public relations, or professional experience in these fields
- Demonstrated understanding of communications and corporate affairs fundamentals, including media relations, stakeholder communications, communications governance, media release writing, media planning and story pitching
- Experience filming and editing news-style content
- Good news sense and interest in a variety of news outlets
- Good time management, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Mature approach and understanding of sensitivities involving donor, recipient and family privacy
- Ability to develop new media contacts and stakeholder relationships
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for multiple channels
- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- A few years of experience; junior-level opportunity for someone ready to take the next career step
