About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Create positive donor experiences and encourage donor return
- Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collection equipment
- Safely insert and remove needles to collect whole blood, plasma and platelets
- Monitor donors after donation
- Assist donors with rebooking their next donation
- Collaborate with the team to achieve collection targets
- Set up and pack down machines and blood products
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven customer-facing experience
- Passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience
- Comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
- Ability to occasionally lift between 9–22.7 kg
- Ability to frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
- Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
- No previous blood collection experience required
- Motivation and curiosity to learn the blood and biological product collection process
